Frankenstein is a monster who is confused with what purpose he was created. He doesn’t understand why he is around, just to be ignored. He even compares himself to a child and his creator to a father but doesn’t understand why his “father” would disown him. He says things, such as how humans are like fire. Fire can cook food and keep him warm but when he touches it, he gets burnt. Likewise, humans seem so good to each other, but are so mean to him. He says he could feel like both “Adam” and “Satan” after he found the Paradise Lost book, because Victor Frankenstein wanted nothing to do with him.
Our culture doesn’t see the monster as such a bad thing. Our culture has made cereal brands, costumes, books, and movies over him. There are at least one hundred films available retelling the monsters’ story. Some examples are “The Frankenstein Symphony” By Francis Dhomont and Christopher Isherwood’s modern version of Frankenstein, titled “Frankenstein: The True Story.” You can even go on the web and find hundreds of things that have to do with him. You don’t even have to search to web to find him. Go into the grocery store and look at the cereal brands or even watch the children or adults during Halloween because you would be surprised on how big this monster really is! -- Written by ENGL083-36N Group 4

Frankenstein has had a huge impact on Western Literature. Frankenstein was one of the first monsters we were introduced to. Though Frankenstein got to be known as the bad guy. We now see him differently. As group four pointed out now we see Frankenstein all over the place. Rather it be cereal boxes at the grocery store, or children dressed up as him on Halloween. Today we may also think of him as a role model or the good monster. Though our thoughts of Frankenstein have changed he will always be known as a signifigent monster.
In the blog post that group four wrote, it does explain a snippet of what the theme is of Frankenstein. Now-a-days the monster is not meant to be scary, because people have remade the idea of the monster, but of course has called him Frankenstein. When I think of the monster, I think about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There is a scene in the episodes that someone created his brother form other body parts and attempted to create a girlfriend till Buffy stops it. I enjoyed the story because now I know the real story of Frankenstein.
group four did a good job giving examples on where you could find things about frankenstein today, but i think they could have actually explained the "monster" in the story franstein a little better. i think they left out alot of details on how the monster was made and how his "creator" abandoned him. its not really telling the readers whats going on in the story, or the history behind it. the group did do a good job on mentioning his creators name and some things the monster learns. frankenstein can be found every where today, even in games such as nintendo and sega theres a game called mary shelleys frankenstein. he plays a big role in todays culture. wheather hes scary or a good creature.
Over many years the view on Frankenstein's monster has changed. When the story was first told it was told in a way in which people were scared of the monster. Throughout time the views on Frankenstein's monster has changed. Now there are many places where the monster can be seen. Such places are children's t.v. shows, cereal boxes, as Halloween decorations, even plays and operas have been made based on the original text.As you can see the way we now view Frankenstein's monster is in a much different way then how people first viewed the monster many years ago.
Frankenstein
In the “Frankenstein” blog, group four did an ok job at summarizing the story. They did forget to mention something’s such as the history of the story or information on the author Mary Wollstonecraft. Group four had examples of movies, books, and toys that are from Frankenstein. Frankenstein was a great story because it shows a monster trying to figure out who he is and where he came from. Overall group fours blog was good, besides a few details.
I like the theme of Frankenstein being a father and the monster being the son. I think Frankenstein was a terrible father and he should have gotten in some kind of trouble for putting his new born son out instead of teaching him right from wrong. Yes the monster was ugly and not the best looking child but a real father would have taken care of him and would have raised the monster to know how to be an actual person. I think if Frankenstein would have actually taught the monster instead of turning him out on his own people would have been nicer to the monster and would have gave him a chance. Then if Frankenstein would have made the monster a family with a wife and child then he could have taught them too and they would have been happy and the monster would have never hurt anyone. Another place where you can find monster would be on tee-shirts and other clothing items. You can type Frankenstein in on Google and different items will come up of the monster.
Frankenstein over the years has changed a lot. Back then he was meant to be scary but now-a-days Frankenstein is not looked at as a scary monster he has become a role model in some way. Group four pointed out that we see Frankenstein everywhere now which is very true. He has become very popular with children and has stayed in the Halloween theme. Group four did a great job on mentioning where you can find Frankenstein these days but i would like to hear more about how he was created. Frankenstein will always be a very well know monster and a great part of western literature.
The story of Frankenstein has been remade throughout the years. Though Frankenstein was one of the first monsters to be created in Western Literature, we still read about him and watch movies and television shows about him. Like the movie Young Frankenstein, it is not the true story of Frankenstein, but a spoof that shows that even though Frankenstein is a monster, he has feelings like everyone around him. Group four made a great point when they mention that humans like fire. It keeps us warm and cooks out food but if we touch it we get burnt. People are the same they will be kind and gentle with everyone similar to them, but once something or someone different comes along, we treat them like freaks.
Group 4 did an excellent job on their blog post. They seemed to leave out a few small explanations but over all they did a great job. They have a lot of good examples on how popular Frankenstein has become over the years and how his image isn't so scary anymore. His image now is more of a friendly monster. His story does have a huge impact on Western Literature because he is one of the first monsters that had a story with a theme and meaning behind it. I'm glad I learned the true real story behind Frankenstein, because my out look on him has changed completely.
I liked the plot of this weird father son setup of Frankenstein being a dad and the monster being the son. Frankenstein was a dead beat father and wast right for him to put his son out rather then teaching him the difference between right and wrong. Maybe if Frankenstein would have made the monster a family of his own, he could have taught them what he had learned from his father and they probably would have been happier and would of had no interest in hurting anyone unless they messed with him. good job group 4
I like what they had to say about the monster in Frankenstein. I don’t see why the man that crated him wouldn’t just undo what he done if he hate it that much and wasn’t going be around to help him. The monster was just like a new born baby he doesn’t know right from wrong. So his creator shouldn’t have turned his back on him like he didn’t. I think that why the monster does some of the stuff that he does in the book just want to fix in but never will. Some of the place I have seen Frankenstein is in the Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein movie. Also Dean Knootz had his own Frankenstein Book series that someone I know has read and said they were all good. He also had a graphic novel of the first book made. Frankenstein is here to say as far as I can tell. I wonder what Mary Shelley think of all this?
